@robby: I definitely admire them for thinking outside the box, and it’s true that they will save $ by sidestepping many of the costs associated with the release of a physical album, but it feels like they’re throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Are people really ready to put bookends on their album collections?

I think it is more a case of democratization of music than ruining thereof. How wonderful that music is no longer within the grasp only of the elite. More than anything, this is typical of Radiohead’s pioneering dynamism. Yorke and the boys recognise that illegal downloads will happen regardless; so they’ve upfronted the problem and legitimated it. In the process, allowing millions of less loaded folks to be exposed to the artistry of their music. bravo!

Thanks, saw the post, but you have a small mistake: “we’ll be seeing a lot more of the New York Post.” I’m sure we will see more of Murdoch’s tabloid, but you intended to write New York PRESS. But did enjoy the sexual overtones of the making them want your “nut” tip.
